AXIS P1518-E Box Video Camera

The AXIS P1518-E is a sophisticated dual-lens box camera engineered for demanding outdoor surveillance applications. It features two high-quality image sensors: an 8-megapixel 1/1.2” sensor and a 2-megapixel 1/2.8” sensor, delivering exceptional image clarity and detail across multiple fields of view. Designed to withstand harsh environments, the camera boasts robust weatherproof and impact-resistant certifications including NEMA 4X, IP66, IP67, and IK10, ensuring reliable operation in rain, dust, and vandal-prone areas. Its rugged design is complemented by a built-in heater, enabling consistent performance even in extreme temperatures ranging from -40 °C to 60 °C (-40 °F to 140 °F).

The 8 MP lens offers a fixed focal length of 5.9 mm, providing a wide horizontal field of view of 114° with corridor format support for capturing elongated scenes. The 2 MP lens features a versatile 10.9–29 mm focal range with remote zoom, focus, pan, and tilt adjustments, allowing precise framing from 29° to 11° horizontal field of view. Equipped with advanced imaging technologies such as Forensic WDR and Lightfinder 2.0, the camera delivers clear, color-accurate images even in challenging lighting conditions. The integrated Deep Learning Processing Unit (DLPU) enhances intelligent video analytics capabilities, enabling features like AXIS Object Analytics for accurate object detection and classification. Video streams are highly configurable with support for multiple individually adjustable H.264, H.265 with Zipstream technology, and Motion JPEG streams.

The camera supports an 8 MP stream at up to 25/30 frames per second and a 2 MP stream at up to 50/60 frames per second, ensuring smooth and efficient video capture. Security and monitoring features include shock detection, active tampering alarms, and Axis Edge Vault with FIPS 140-3 Level 3 certification for secure key management. Connectivity options include audio input, supervised input/output ports, a microSD memory card slot for local storage, and serial RS422/485 communication interfaces for integration with external devices. Power options include IEEE 802.3at Type 2 Class 4 Power over Ethernet (PoE) or 10-28 V DC with power redundancy for enhanced reliability. The package includes a removable sunshield, a wall bracket, and cable glands for secure and weatherproof installation. An optional illuminator is available to enhance low-light performance in complete darkness.
